These CDs are protected with SafeDisc 2. I'm not entirely sure what the difference is between the "SafeDisc 2/3/4" datatype and the "SafeDisc 2/3/4 (EFM* Writer)" so I dumped the discs using both, but there is an explanation of the difference here. To run the software you'll probably have to mount it using a virtual drive such as Alcohol 120%/52% or WinCDEmu (if it works for SafeDisc discs).

The terrain looks OK from 20,000ft, with photorealistic textures like those in Flight Sim 2002. The graphics in CFS3 are something of a mixture - the external plane models are excellent, with fantastic lighting effects, but the cockpits are far inferior to those in IL-2. ![]()
